A Testimony of a Young Family - When Sickness Strikes

Since writing my last letter to you, I’ve found myself reflecting and thinking back on a testimonial of a young family who I started working with over two years ago (already!).
When the mother of the family had reached out, she was concerned and wanted to find a way to help her two young boys heal so that they would have greater resiliency and not be sick so often. She scheduled an herbal consultation for her second son first as a starting point.
This little boy, just only about 2 ½ years old at the time, was more or less sick for three months straight - constant runny nose, extremely hard phlegmy cough at night, and multiple ear infections. Thankfully, his parents explored the possibility of food sensitivities, of which there was one significant one. Removing this food from his diet as much as they could helped quite a bit but it was clear his body was still seeking some support to find a more optimal state. That's where herbal medicines came in.
Through conversation and muscle testing (a non-invasive way of checking in with the body/organs/systems to see what needs support as well as determine which herbal medicines will be most supportive), we came up with an herbal protocol for him to take that was specific to him.
When I met with them just one month later, there had been huge improvement. Between the visits, he had mostly overcome all the respiratory symptoms he had when I first met with him but then acquired a different viral-like sickness. This might not sound like improvement but to me it certainly was because this time, his body was working through it more efficiently. This time he had a fever (one way that the immune system “kills off” the virus/”bug”), his nose was snotty rather than a constant faucet, and his cough was productive.
Another month later and he had no new sicknesses and the mucus had cleared!
All while this testimony was in process, I had started working with her oldest son who was in a similar situation as her second son. Her oldest, just 6 years old at the time, was experiencing fevers weekly for about 4 months and had multiple ear infections with multiple rounds of antibiotics, it was a cycle he seemed stuck in. Not to mention the inflamed lymph nodes and scratchy throat all while going through a growth spurt.
Just as with his younger brother, we muscle tested to see what organs/systems were needing support and determine which herbal medicines would best help his body find more balance, flow, and healing.
Three weeks later, I saw him for a follow-up herbal consultation. Significant improvement!
His mother shared that he had ear pain 1 or 2 times between visits but he always came out of it, the pain never progressed into an ear infection! In consecutive visits, the ear pain/ear infections became a “forgotten” ailment he had as we continued supporting his body in other ways.
I’ve since gotten to work with her third son as well (just 1 ½ years old at the time). He also experienced amazing healing in just a couple of months with one of his primary symptoms/concerns- itchy, hive-like skin spots.
When chatting with the mother recently, she shared that she has found she forgets to swap her kiddos toothbrushes out now that her sons don’t get sick like they used to. In the past, she never had to remember to change them because she would get them a new one after they were sick. What a good “problem” to have.
May we all forget to change out our toothbrushes because we have been well and are resilient against whatever “bug” may be circulating 😉
In gratitude of the medicine that the plants hold and the opportunity I have to share it with others - Be well,
Kara
