The Fire of Summer has Burned (and a special blend: Soothe & Sway)

The fire of summer has burned (and isn’t gone just yet).

How are you feeling?

How is your energy?

Your digestion?

Your mind?

If you’re feeling a bit lethargic, brain foggy, and/or anxious, you’re not alone.

The summer’s heat has a tendency to burn us out, especially when coupled with the busy schedules summer comes with for so many. Plus, now that we are entering Late Summer, the humidity may just shift things just enough in our systems that we feel the fatigue, digestive shifts, brain fog, and circling thoughts a bit more.

Late Summer is a recognized season in Chinese Medicine which is a bridge between high Summer and Autumn. Late Summer, just when the harvest is coming in steadily, is the season associated with the Earth element. It is the season to ground, tend to our digestion, and is a gentle invitation to start slowing down just a little bit.

I encourage you to lean into the messages (aka: symptoms and patterns) your body may be sending you. Might you explore how to respond.

a small path leading through tall pines trees in late summer, everything still so green

Maybe you respond by incorporating more simple, warm meals.

Maybe you respond by finding ways to create more rhythm in your days/weeks.

Maybe you respond by finding ways to ground and/or rest.

Maybe you respond by finding blank spaces in your calendar and blocking them so they remain that way.

Each of these would be incredible practices to incorporate into our Late Summer days, especially if you’re feeling a bit “off”. Herbal remedies would also be very supportive alongside any of these practices, of course.

If this interests you, this (and more) is what we explore together within the Earth & Body Series. The next gathering is coming up on September 15th in Mankato.

Be Well 💜

Soothe & Sway

This last week, I found myself reaching for a blend I formulated years ago- a blend I’ve named “Soothe & Sway”. As I was looking around my home for my bottle, I found myself thinking about the times I’ve reached for this ally and I was surprised when I realized a pattern:

More often than not, the times I would reach for this blend was in the second half of summer - think mid July through August.

This blend is formulated to support us in times of anxiety and/or overwhelm. It has a way of helping us to pause, take a deep breath, and gently shift into a different direction, if needed. How perfect for the season of Late Summer?! A happy “coincidence”.

Just 3 drops under the tongue and a willingness to pause alongside the remedy for a moment.

It’s pretty amazing.

But before I “officially” offered this blend to others, I wanted to make sure this blend could support others as it has me. So I shared sample bottles of Soothe & Sway with those interested in trying it and they came back with some amazing testimonies. Here’s just a couple of them:

I will be honest, my Soothe and Sway sample has been gone for over a week and the last dose I took was a little water to wash any last bit I could get out of the bottle. ;-)  …

Soothe and Sway fits its name. I tried to notice when I was on the verge of anxiety, feeling a little panic or just starting to overthink something and then take a dose of the remedy. It SOOTHED me enough for me to shift a bit and SWAY; meaning it helped me shift focus/mindset and calm my nerves so that I could move through whatever the trigger was with some ease.” - LW

--And--

“It has been 4 days into the school year (as a bus driver), and I have to say I am feeling calm!! Right away after you take a few drops of your Soothe & Sway tincture you have a relaxed feeling; your shoulders drop down and you feel a feeling of "I got this". Thank you!” - PE

The experiences these individuals shared with me gave a resounding “yes” to my question of whether or not this blend could help others similarly as it had me.

What a joy to get to offer this blend.

A blend I formulated out of my own need with plants I’ve grown and/or sustainably harvested myself.

Soothe & Sway is available in ½ oz dropper bottles.

Available on my website or via local pickup (Eagle Lake/ Mankato or Zumbrota).
